Depois de 2012 e 2014, o Porto foi novamente considerado o melhor destino pela European Best Destinations vencendo às cidades de Milão (Itália), Gdansk (Polónia), Atenas (Grécia), São Sebastião (Espanha), Sozopol (Bulgária), Viena (Áustria) Stari Grad (Croácia), Basileia (Suíça), Roterdão (Holanda), Roma (Itália), Madrid (Espanha) Bonifacio e Paris (França) e Wild Taiga (Finlândia).

A Cidade na ponta dos dedos gostou muito da campanha promovida pela cidade do Porto, a região do Porto e Norte e o Gabinete Nacional de Turismo de Portugal que ajudou com certeza a votação. Mas a maior parte dos votos – 56,8% – que elegeram o Porto chegaram de países como os Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, França, Dinamarca, África do Sul, Suécia, Irlanda e Canadá, entre outros.
