Entrar no Párisi Udvar é uma viagem deslumbrante para quem gosta de hospitalidade e património. Isto porque o edifício esteve muito tempo abandonado e vê-lo assim recuperado é uma ode a todos os saudosistas do Mundo.
Situado no coração de Budapeste, e muito perto do Danúbio, a mestria arquitetónica e riqueza cultural revelam-se pela arcada coberta do século XIX, uma fusão de grandeza gótica e opulência otomana, que deixa todos os visitantes admirados e de cabeça elevada, para uma época que não é a nossa.
No detalhe, no chão pavimentos em mosaico, e na cúpula, o caleidoscópio de vidro colorido, ou as escadarias adornadas com azulejos verde-menta, são um testemunho do trabalho artesanal do venerado artista húngaro Miksa Róth e tudo isso era uma grande herança da história da cidade.
Quando a Archikon foi encarregada de transformar um edifício Belle Epoque em Budapeste num hotel de luxo, o histórico marco precisava de muito mais do que uma renovação superficial. Décadas de negligência e renovações imperfeitas deixaram esta morada, originalmente uma galeria comercial com telhado de vidro, em estado muito precário servindo apenas como cenário de filmagens.
Adquirido pela Mellow Mood Hotels em 2014, o Párisi Udvar foi restaurado ao longo de quatro anos e meio com a ajuda de uma vasta equipa, onde devemos elevar artesãos e engenheiros, além da Kroki Design. Hoje parte da coleção Unbound da Hyatt, abriu para deslumbrar quem vêm à procura da beleza da segunda cidade mais importante do Império Austro-Húngaro.
Construído em 1817 como uma galeria comercial neoclássica, foi reconstruído entre 1909 e 1913 pelo Banco Brudern, resultando numa mistura de Art Déco, Neo-Gótico, Mourisco e Art Nouveau. Após sobreviver às duas Guerras Mundiais, o edifício sofreu sob o regime soviético. A renovação na década de 1960 causou mais danos, exigindo a substituição do aço oxidado da arcada de vidro. Durante a renovação, foram encontradas surpresas como mais de cem cerâmicas originais da Zsolnay. Dos duzentos e cinquenta mil ornamentos cerâmicos, cerca de um quarto precisou ser refeito. A transformação das cúpulas de vidro, uma com vitrais de Miksa Roth e outra com azulejos Luxfer, é particularmente notável, trazendo nova luz ao hotel.
Por isso, a restauração do edifício do Párisi Udvar é uma história de resiliência e renascimento. Escolhendo o Paris Udvar para ficar ou de passagem para jantar, o Sol quando se põe sobre as majestosas cúpulas e pináculos do Párisi Udvar, lança um brilho dourado sobre a sua fachada intemporal, não podemos deixar de sentir a magnificência. E por isso ser um marco na visita a Budapeste.

Entering Párisi Udvar is a dazzling journey for anyone who loves hospitality and heritage. This is because the building was abandoned for a long time and to see it restored in this way is an ode to all the nostalgists of the world.
Located in the heart of Budapest and very close to the Danube, the architectural mastery and cultural richness are revealed by the 19th century covered arcade, a fusion of Gothic grandeur and Ottoman opulence that leaves all visitors in awe and with their heads held high for an era that is not our own.
In detail, on the mosaic floors and in the dome, the kaleidoscope of coloured glass, or the staircases adorned with mint-green tiles, are a testament to the craftsmanship of the revered Hungarian artist Miksa Róth and all this was a great legacy of the city’s history.
When Archikon was commissioned to transform a Belle Epoque building in Budapest into a luxury hotel, the historic landmark needed much more than a superficial renovation. Decades of neglect and imperfect renovations had left this address, originally a glass-roofed shopping arcade, in a very precarious state serving only as a film set.
Acquired by Mellow Mood Hotels in 2014, Párisi Udvar was restored over the course of four and a half years with the help of a vast team of craftsmen and engineers, as well as Kroki Design. Now part of Hyatt’s Unbound collection, it has opened to dazzle those who come looking for the beauty of the second most important city in the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Built in 1817 as a neoclassical shopping arcade, it was rebuilt between 1909 and 1913 by the Brudern Bank, resulting in a mixture of Art Deco, Neo-Gothic, Moorish and Art Nouveau. After surviving both World Wars, the building suffered under the Soviet regime. Renovation in the 1960s caused further damage, requiring the replacement of the glass arcade’s oxidised steel. During the renovation, surprises were found such as more than a hundred original Zsolnay ceramics. Of the two hundred and fifty thousand ceramic ornaments, around a quarter had to be remade. The transformation of the glass domes, one with stained glass by Miksa Roth and the other with Luxfer tiles, is particularly remarkable, bringing new light to the hotel.
So the restoration of the Párisi Udvar building is a story of resilience and rebirth.
