O Parque das Nações parece-me sempre atrás do Sol Posto, mas a verdade é que é inevitável o espírito de Verão que se vive (mesmo de Inverno) por aquelas margens do Tejo. Depois há a maravilha das boas memórias. Quem se lembra da Expo’98 e daquelas noites épicas do Bujix? Na altura eu era RP dos Vip’s que visitavam a Exposição Mundial e sei que já passaram vinte anos, mas são recordações épicas do meu álbum de memórias, no que toca ao elogio de Portugal.
Para quem não se lembra, o Bujix estava para os lisboetas na altura como o Estudio 54 está para Nova Ioque. Exagerado talvez esta minha analogia, mas são momentos que marcaram a minha geração. A morada épica ficava junto à marina, na porta Norte, com vista para o rio e ficou como para sempre na memória de quem vibrou por Portugal na altura da Expo’98, com as suas animadas noites históricas. A felicidade era tanta que as estruturas vibravam ao som da música e confesso que não sei como nunca veio abaixo com tanto salto e euforia colectiva. Épicas noites aquelas!
Parque das Nações always seems to be behind the Sun set but the truth is that the spirit of Summer is inevitable (even in Winter) along those shores of the Tagus. Then there is the wonder of good memories. Who remembers Expo’98 and those epic nights of Bujix? At the time I was a PR of the Vip’s who visited the World Exposition and I know that it’s been twenty years, but they are epic images of my album of memories in what praises of Portugal.
For those who do not remember, the Bujix was for the Lisboners at the time as Estudio 54 is for New York. Exaggerated perhaps my analogy, but they are moments that marked my generation. The epic abode was next to the marina, in the North gate, overlooking the river and remained forever in the memory of those who vibrated through Portugal at the time of the Expo’ 98, with its lively historical nights. The happiness was so great that the structures vibrated to the sound of the music and I confess that I do not know how never came down with so much leap and collective euphoria. Those nights were epic!
Voltando a 2018, depois do sucesso do Chiado e do Porto, o Cantinho do Avillez atravessou a cidade e revitaliza agora o lugar que tanto animou de rasgo e de mundo as pessoas da minha geração. Coming back to 2018, after the success of Chiado and Oporto, the Avillez corner crossed the city and revitalized the place that so much animated of rip and world the people of my generation. Very connected to the Oceans, and to our openness of mind, to other peoples and cultures – a spirit that centuries ago marked Portugal and the World forever as we knew it – chef José Avillez found the ideal address to extend his brand, which saddles with influences of travel our contemporary Portuguese cuisine.
Na carta pode esperar os famosos Peixinhos da Horta, o Tártaro de Atum com sabores asiáticos, as Lascas de bacalhau, migas soltas, ovo BT e azeitonas explosivas e os Carabineiros com molho Thai. Mas há mais. Moqueca de corvina e camarão e um Caril verde de grão e legumes deliciosos. Nas sobremesas além da fulgurante Avelã ao Cubo, ou do famoso Bolo de chocolate à cantinho com gelado de morango, há o Sorvete de Limão com Manjericão e vodka e a maravilhosa Salada de Papaia com Maracujá e lima, uma enorme e fresca surpresa.
In the menu you can expect the famous Peixinhos da Horta, the Tartar of Tuna with Asian flavors, the Cod chips, loose crumbs, BT egg and explosive olives and the Carabineiros with Thai sauce. But there is more. Delicious Moqueca de corvina and shrimp and a green curry of grain and vegetables. In the desserts beyond the blazing Avelã ao Cubo, or from the famous Chocolate cake with strawberry ice cream, there is the Lemon Ice Cream with basil and vodka and the wonderful Papaya Salad with passion fruit and lime, a huge and cool surprise.
Os interiores que adoro de paixão são do Studio Astolfi que entre o salmão, o terracota e verde das plantas selam com palhinha, pedra e madeira, as melhores sensações estivais neste cantinho do chef. Para ir e sentir o Verão o ano inteiro é sem dúvida um dos restaurantes que marcam e bem o meu regresso à cidade.
The stunning interiors are from the Studio Astolfi that among the salmon, terracotta and green plants seal with straw, stone and wood, the best summer sensations in this chef’s corner. To go and feel the Summer all year round is without doubt one of the restaurants that mark my return to the city.
