Não sei o que leva alguém a ir embora deste do planeta Terra pelas próprias mãos. Sempre que recebo estas notícias tristes tropeço sempre naquela frase do ‘Caminho menos percorrido’ de Scott Peck:“a vida é difícil”. E não, ninguém nos ensina isso na escola. Os contos do Walt Disney são muitas vezes uma enorme utopia face à realidade da vida e essas fases em que somos desmesuradamente desafiados, chegam-nos sempre sem livro de instruções. Todos nós, tenho a certeza, tivémos alturas difíceis em que viveríamos bem no espaço mas confesso que choca-me sempre muito a coragem que é preciso ter para mergulhar no grande final. O Anthony Bourdain foi uma referência muito importante no meu percurso. Antes de me lançar em televisão devorei series inteiras, tentando aprender com a sua mestria a verdade e espontaneidade obrigatórias em televisão. Perde-se um homem marcante no mundo da gastronomia, dos restaurantes e das ruas das cidades. Aqui deixo a minha homenagem e todos os seus programas gravados em Portugal.

I do not know what causes someone to walk away from this planet on their own. Whenever I get these sad news I always stumble on that phrase from Scott Peck’s: “Life is difficult.” And no, no one teaches us this in school. The tales of Walt Disney are often a huge utopia in the reality of life and these stages in which we are unquestionably challenged come to us without any instruction book. All of us, I am sure, had difficult times in which we would live well in space, but I confess that I am always shocked at the courage it takes to delve into the grand finale. Anthony Bourdain was a very important reference in my career. Before launching myself on television I devoured entire series, trying to learn from their mastery the compulsory truth and spontaneity on television. One is lost a remarkable man in the world of the gastronomy, the restaurants and the streets of the cities. Here I leave my honor and all your programs recorded in Portugal.
